Senior Hardware Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Hardware Engineer to play a key role in delivering advanced training solutions to the UK MOD.

Job Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity to lead and deliver hardware technical activities on large-scale programs, applying mature engineering knowledge and techniques to design, develop, and manage hardware engineering solutions as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop hardware components and systems for defence simulation applications.
  • Evaluate Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) of prospective designs.
  • Collaborate with Systems Engineers/Architects to develop overall system design, technical directives, and programming standards for assigned projects.
  • Develop and execute test plans to validate hardware functionality and performance.
  • Integrate hardware components into SAP facility.
  • Provide technical support and guidance during system integration and deployment.
  • Assist in the development of user manuals and in-service support documentation.
Project Management:
  • Participate in project planning and progress reviews.
  • Maintain project documentation and track progress against milestones.
  • Identify and manage risks associated with area of responsibility in the project.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent.
  • Experience delivering programs through the engineering lifecycle.
  • Experience of following engineering governance (SOR, PDR, CDR...).
  • Experience delivering the technical element of projects or programs.
  • Excellent planning, organisational, and coordination skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in training and simulation.
  • Experience working in defence and security.
  • Proficiency in tools such as AutoCAD, DOORS, Creo, Solidworks.
