Residential Care Manager
We are excited to announce the opening of our first Children's Home in the Northeast area. This service will be registered with Ofsted for up to 6 (but more likely 4) young people, under a multi-building children's home registration, recognising the increasing demand for specialised placements for children.
As an experienced Registered Manager, you will lead this exciting new venture and work closely with the Responsible Individual to register the service. You will manage the day-to-day running of the home, which is in beautiful farmland just North of Durham.
This position is ideal for an experienced Registered Manager to develop their skills and experience and has the potential to develop into a more senior role over time.
We value support and growth, offering comprehensive induction and continuous professional development. By working closely with the Responsible Individual, you will ensure the highest standards of care, leading the creation and implementation of a nurturing environment for children and young people.
We are looking for a dedicated, compassionate, and skilled individual to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- To lead the day-to-day running of all aspects of the home, including quality assurance, high standards of care, recruitment, training, budgeting, staffing, and health and safety of the premises.
- To keep all children and young people within the service safe from harm and to report all matters of concern urgently to minimise any future impact.
- To successfully register with Ofsted and ensure that the home meets all relevant regulatory standards.
- Lead and inspire the support team; carry out effective inductions, probation reviews, supervisions, and formal assessments in line with staffing requirements, whilst maintaining a culture of openness, transparency, and fairness within the home.
- Recognise and assess individual children or young people's needs and work collaboratively with multiple agencies to formulate a personalised care plan while promoting the social and emotional wellbeing and development of each child and young person.
- To undertake responsibility for the financial management and budgeting of the home in accordance with the organisation's policies and procedures.
- To actively prepare and support young people when leaving care to enable them to make a successful transition into adulthood.
The salary for this role is estimated at £55,000-£60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Level 5 Diploma for Leadership for Children & Young People's Residential pathway.
- Experience working with Children and Young People in a residential care setting, most recently in a supervisory/management role within residential setting.
- A proven record as a registered manager with Ofsted.
- An understanding of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements and how these are practiced within a residential setting.
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and work effectively under pressure.
- A calm and exploratory approach to working with children and young people who have experienced significant trauma.
- A Full UK Driving Licence and use of vehicle for Business Purpose.
Benefits:
- Starting salary of between £53,000 to £58,000 pa DOE.
- Access to fully funded qualifications and training.
- Ofsted related rewards and bonuses.
- Access to a company vehicle while on shift.
- Wellness allowance.
- Access to a blue light card – discounted services.
- Access to a 24/7 counselling and support service.
- Access to experienced professionals available for guidance and support.
