**About ParaPride**

We are a charity dedicated to promoting equality and inclusion for the LGBTQ+ and disabled communities.

As a Trustee, you will play a key role in helping us achieve our charitable objectives. Our mission is to create a more inclusive and accepting society for all individuals, regardless of their sexual orientation or disability.

We envision this person would be someone from the community we represent and has a deep understanding of our community's lived experience.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A commitment to the organisation, its community, and its mission
  • A strong representation and passionate allyship for the LGBTQIA+ and disabled communities
  • An understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship or willingness to learn and access these duties and responsibilities prior to joining the Board
  • Past and/or present experience in one or more of the following areas: charity fundraising, charity financial management, charity governance and administration, events management, training & development, consulting, digital and social marketing

**Key Responsibilities**

  1. Ensuring that the organisation pursues its stated objects (purposes), as defined in its governing document, by developing and agreeing a long-term strategy
  2. Ensuring that the organisation complies with its governing document, charity law, company law and any other relevant legislation or regulations
  3. Ensuring that the organisation applies its resources exclusively in pursuance of its charitable objects, for the benefit of the public
  4. Ensuring that the organisation defines its goals and evaluates performance against agreed targets
  5. Safeguarding the good name and values of the organisation
  6. Ensuring the effective and efficient administration of the organisation, including having appropriate policies and procedures in place
  7. Ensuring the financial stability of the organisation
  8. Protecting and managing the property of the charity and ensuring the proper investment of the charity's funds
  9. Following proper and formal arrangements for the appointment, supervision, support, appraisal and remuneration of the chief executive (if the charity employs staff)

**Salary Information**

We offer a competitive salary of £20,000 - £30,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.

Time Commitment: 3 years, with the possibility of re-election for another 3 years
