Attendance and Inclusion Officer

About the Role:The successful candidate will be required to oversee the school's attendance strategy and graduated response. This involves supporting pupils and families, monitoring pupil absence, and working closely with the school's leadership team and local authority.
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to improve pupil attendance, promote inclusion, and support the pastoral and administrative departments in dealing with attendance issues.
About you:
This is a term-time only position, requiring 37 hours per week over 39 weeks, including inset days. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, experience of working with vulnerable groups, and a strong understanding of attendance and inclusion policies.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement attendance strategies to improve pupil attendance and reduce absenteeism
- Work closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and local authorities to identify and address attendance issues
- Support pupils and families to develop good attendance habits and prevent absences
- Maintain accurate records of attendance and monitor progress against targets
