We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at an Outstanding SEN school in Rugby. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with a wide range of needs, including sensory impairments, physical disabilities, autism, and severe/complex learning difficulties.
Key Responsibilities- Support small class sizes of 6-9 children and 1:1 work
- Be flexible and active in your approach to meet the needs of our pupils
- Work collaboratively with the teaching team to deliver a bespoke pathway curriculum
- Provide personal care and support to pupils as needed
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and parents to ensure a smooth and supportive learning environment
- Experience or a passion for working with children with SEN
- Flexibility, proactivity, and patience in your approach
- Nurturing and caring approaches to supporting pupils
- Effective communication skills within a team
- Ability to provide personal care and support
- Background in Education, Care, Social Care, Psychology, or Drama
- Training or experience in non-verbal communication (e.g. Makaton, PECS) is preferred
We offer a competitive hourly rate of up to £14.00, depending on experience. We also provide opportunities for professional development and continuous support from our senior leadership team and specialist colleagues.
