Overview


Dumfries and Galloway Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join their Leisure, Culture and Wellbeing team as a Team Leader in Inclusion and Community Sports Hubs.


Based in Dumfries, this exciting opportunity will see the successful candidate lead on the delivery of Inclusion and Community Sports Hub development work across the region.



Job Description


The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the local community sport environment and a proven track record of community engagement, with experience of supporting third sector organisations, including local sport clubs.


As a key member of the team, the postholder will be responsible for leading the planning and development of Community Sports Hubs at Tier 2 and Tier 3 level, developing a strategic approach to inclusive opportunities in sport and physical activity.


The successful candidate will also have a strong grasp of the local community sport environment across Dumfries and Galloway, and knowledge and experience of applying the principles of sportscotland's Community Sport Hub programme.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Lead the planning and development of Community Sports Hubs at Tier 2 and Tier 3 level
  • Develop a strategic approach to inclusive opportunities in sport and physical activity
  • Work closely with local sport clubs and third sector organisations to deliver Community Sports Hub development work
  • Develop and implement a plan to increase participation in sport and physical activity among key target groups


Requirements


The successful candidate will have:



  • A strong understanding of the local community sport environment
  • A proven track record of community engagement and supporting third sector organisations
  • Experience of applying the principles of sportscotland's Community Sport Hub programme
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Experience of working in a similar role or environment

Salary: £41,000 - £44,000 per annum


Working Hours: 36 hours per week, 52.14 weeks per year
