Role Description

This is an exciting opportunity to work with Oranga Tamariki—Ministry for Children, Canterbury Care and Protection Group Homes. As a Casual Residential Youth Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting our young people to achieve their goals and overcome challenges.

You will be required to cover shifts of our Residential Youth Workers, providing 24-hour, 7-days per week care, including weekends and public holidays. This role requires flexibility and adaptability, as well as the ability to establish rapport with rangatahi who have experienced trauma.

Key Requirements:
  • Tertiary education within psychology, social sciences, social work, sports, music, arts or teaching would be an advantage
  • A full New Zealand driver's licence
  • Meet the Children's Act safety checking and our vetting requirements, including the right to work in New Zealand
