This is a unique opportunity to join AXIS Capital, a leading global provider of specialty lines insurance and reinsurance. We are seeking a highly skilled Data Privacy Senior Associate to support our Data Protection Officer in ensuring compliance with global data privacy and protection regulations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily operational privacy compliance tasks, providing privacy advice, and overseeing the implementation of policies and training programs. This role will also involve collaborating with various teams and business units to ensure compliance with current, planned, and proposed data processing activities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Management of the DPPO's privacy management software, including building and managing forms, questionnaires, and privacy platforms.
  • Completion and review of Privacy Reviews/Assessments for new products, tools, systems, applications, and vendors.
  • Management of Data Subject Requests and applicable data subject rights in various jurisdictions.
  • Management of Personal Data Incidents and Events.
  • Assisting with the management of Personal Data Breaches.
  • Reporting of KPIs and metrics for all privacy management platforms.
  • Management of the Record of Processing Activities.
  • Daily interaction and collaboration with Information Security, Vendor Management, Legal, and IT teams.
  • Provision of data privacy advice and guidance to Senior Management, Business Units, and support functions.
  • Horizon scanning, identification, and mitigation of privacy risks and compliance strategies.
  • Assisting with development and delivery of training and awareness materials to AXIS staff.

Required qualifications, skills, and experience include:

  • Paralegal designation or Bachelor's degree.
  • CIPP-E, CIPP-US, or CIPP-C designation or commitment to achieving within the first 6 months of employment.
  • Technically savvy with a demonstrated ability to understand data flows within various systems and apps.
  • 2+ years of experience in a legal, data privacy, and protection, and/or compliance role.
  • Working knowledge of data privacy and protection laws and regulations in major jurisdictions.
  • Understanding of the insurance and reinsurance industries and associated data flows.
  • Collaboration and building of relationships with relevant teams and individuals.
  • Strong analytical skills, including ability to focus quickly on key elements of legal and regulatory risk.
  • Positive, collaborative spirit, excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
