AWS EMEA SARL (UK Branch) is seeking a talented and motivated Systems Engineer, Route 53 DNS Services to join our growing team.

As part of the AWS Infrastructure Services organization, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the core infrastructure that powers our global cloud platform.

About the Role

We are looking for an individual with a strong understanding of Linux system administration, network fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP), and experience with systems automation using scripting languages like Bash, Python, or Perl. You will be responsible for ensuring the high availability, performance, and security of our DNS infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of a robust and scalable DNS infrastructure.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot DNS-related issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
  • Automate routine tasks and processes using scripting languages to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
  • Collaborate with other engineers and teams to ensure seamless integration of DNS services within the broader AWS ecosystem.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and emerging technologies in the field of DNS.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Working knowledge of Linux system administration.
  • Experience with systems automation using Bash, Python, Perl, or similar scripting languages.
  • Understanding of network fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, routing, switching, HTTP).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills at all levels, from application to network to host.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to cloud computing concepts and design considerations.
  • Experience in a production environment.
  • Familiarity with monitoring frameworks (such as CloudWatch, Datadog, Grafana, Elastic, or similar).
