Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our Remote Engineering Design & Robotics Team at the National Nuclear Laboratory. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for nuclear industry projects.

Key Responsibilities:

* Design and develop electrical systems for nuclear industry projects, including control panels, electrical equipment, and instrumentation
* Use AutoCAD 2D CAD design package to produce detailed design drawings and schematics
* Conduct detailed technical and design calculations
* Collaborate with the build, installation, commissioning, and operational support of plant-based equipment and inactive development test rigs
* Prepare product safety-related documentation, including risk assessments, method statements, and operation & maintenance manuals
* Comply with all legislative, regulatory, and company policy standards and procedures

Requirements:

* Degree in Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Engineering or closely related subject
* Experience with 2D CAD design packages, preferably AutoCAD
* Knowledge and experience of applying legislative and regulatory requirements relating to engineering product development projects and CE/UKCA marking
* Working knowledge of relevant safety legislation and quality and environmental standards
* Proactive approach to maintaining high safety and quality standards
* Ability to obtain SC level security clearance

Desirable Criteria:

* Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartered Engineer
* Knowledge of nuclear industry and plant operations
* Experience in the development and operation of remote operations equipment
* Good organisational and planning skills
