About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at the National Nuclear Laboratory. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design and development of electrical systems for our nuclear projects.

Your primary responsibility will be to design and develop electrical systems, including control panels, electrical equipment, and instrumentation. You will work closely with our team of engineers and technicians to ensure that our designs meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will also be responsible for providing technical direction to our design engineers and technicians, as well as liaising with suppliers and manufacturers to procure equipment and materials.

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Design Engineer who is able to work independently and as part of a team. You will have a strong understanding of electrical systems design and development, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electrical systems, including control panels, electrical equipment, and instrumentation.
  • Provide technical direction to design engineers and technicians.
  • Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to procure equipment and materials.
  • Work closely with our team of engineers and technicians to ensure that our designs meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, technical reports, and operation and maintenance manuals.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Requirements
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical systems design and development.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems design and development principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to obtain SC level security clearance.
