Job Title: SEND Learning Support Assistant
Location: Wakefield, West Yorkshire

We are seeking an experienced SEND Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a small SEND school in Wakefield. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) on a 1:1 basis.
The school caters to students aged 11-16 years old in Key Stages 3 and 4, specifically supporting those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, many of whom have been excluded from mainstream education.
We offer competitive pay rates of £80-£120 per hour, depending on experience, as well as a refer a friend or colleague bonus scheme. Our dedicated consultant is always available to offer support and guidance. We also provide free CPD, including SEND-specific training such as Team Teach.
The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEND or challenging behaviours.
  • A compassionate and patient approach to supporting students with diverse and complex needs.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
