About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Nurse Practitioner to join our team as a Clinical Lead in the Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and guidance to the nursing team in the PICU
  • Develop and maintain clinical standards for the service, ensuring high-quality patient care
  • Work closely with the Unit Manager to achieve service goals and objectives
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures, ensuring they are aligned with Trust and national guidelines
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care delivery
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse Mental Health qualification
  • Formal teaching and assessing course completion or current enrollment
  • Appraisal skills, with ability to appraise within 3 months
  • Risk assessment and management skills, with ability to complete within 3 months
  • Significant experience in acute in-patient settings, including PICU
  • Completion of the Trust's Preceptorship Programme
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Teaching and presentation experience
  • Crisis Home Treatment experience
  • Working knowledge of Trust and Care Group Clinical Guidelines, Policies and Procedures
  • Awareness and understanding of NICE guidelines and national guidelines relating to working-age adult mental health
