About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Risk Management Executive Leader to join our Operational Risk Management team at Oaktree Capital Management. This senior leadership role will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of our global Operational Risk Management framework, with a focus on identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational risks across our international offices.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in operational risk management, enterprise risk management, and related fields. They will work closely with our major businesses, operational functions, and investment teams to facilitate top-down and bottom-up risk assessments, focusing on existing and emerging risk areas. The ideal candidate will also have practical experience with Basel, COSO, ERM, risk and control self-assessment tools, methodologies, and concepts.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective risk management strategies to mitigate operational risks
  • Lead risk assessments and root cause analysis to identify key risk areas and develop recommendations for improvement
  • Collaborate with senior management and stakeholders to ensure comprehensive oversight and identification of operational risk trends
  • Prepare and present detailed risk reports to senior management and stakeholders, highlighting key risk areas and recommended actions
  • Identify and analyze operational risk trends to inform strategic decision-making

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of operational risk management, enterprise risk management, and/or related experience required; experience in the investment management industry preferred
  • Practical experience with Basel, COSO, ERM, risk and control self-assessment tools, methodologies, and concepts
  • Proven capability in collecting and analyzing complex data, evaluating information, and drawing logical conclusions
  • Experience in planning and project management, and in maintaining composure under pressure while meeting deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability in applying sound judgment in the evaluation of risks and controls, facilitating insightful conversations, and performing effective root cause analysis

Education:

Bachelor's degree is required. Operational Risk Manager certificate from PRMIA or similar, CFA, FRM) a plus.

Salary:$150,000 - $200,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
