Job Summary

Mountjoy is seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our team on the Isle of Wight. As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out electrical tasks, including installation, fault finding, and certification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out electrical installation condition reports, annual emergency light testing, fire alarm testing, installation work, fault finding, and completion of electric certification.
  • Quote for electrical test remedial work.
  • Ensure that the quality of work always meets the highest possible standards.
  • Ensure all electrical work conforms to the latest IEE Wiring regulations and current British Standards.
  • Apply rigorous and sensible Health & Safety planning and practices in all work, using risk assessments, method statements, and PPE where needed.
  • Diagnose jobs before starting work, identifying materials needed and other trades required for full completion.

Requirements

  • Proficient in MS Office to an intermediate level and the ability to use an IT system for job management and electrical certification.
  • Knowledge of materials and methods used in the electrical industry.
  • Technical electrical knowledge of working methods, practices, RAMS, regulations, legislation, and British Standards.

Qualifications and Experience

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent (Essential).
  • 18th Edition (Desirable).
  • 2391 or equivalent in Inspecting and Testing (Desirable).
  • 5 years' experience of working in an electrical maintenance/building environment.
