About This Role

Pets Choice Ltd is seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join its Procurement team. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the company's growth and ambition to become the best in the industry.

About the Job

This is a new role that will assist both the manufacturing and outsourcing buying teams with day-to-day procurement tasks. Reporting to the Senior Procurement & Supply Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Sourcing and Negotiation: Sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing products and raw materials from reliable suppliers.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and quality products.
  • Market Research and Analysis: Staying up-to-date on market trends, competitive pricing, and customer preferences to inform procurement decisions.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Working closely with cross-functional teams, including product development and sales, to understand product needs and specifications.
  • Problem-Solving and Quality Control: Resolving quality issues with suppliers and ensuring that products meet business requirements.
  • Project Support: Assisting Senior Buyers and the Procurement Manager with projects and tasks as required.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 1-2 years of experience in a buying role or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Commercial awareness to make informed procurement decisions.
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Proactive approach to identify and resolve issues.
