Role Summary

Ganymede is seeking an experienced Depot Engineering Manager to join our team in London.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of depot staff and ensure the safe and efficient maintenance of our rolling stock fleets.

The Role
  1. You will be responsible for managing maintenance schedules and people management across multiple shifts, teams, and projects within the maintenance depot.
  2. You will act as a point of contact for colleagues within the wider engineering, operations, and service delivery departments.
  3. You will ensure that all work carried out on the fleet meets the required standards and is carried out safely and efficiently.
  4. You will be ultimately responsible for the quality of work and personal safety of all workers within the depot environment.
  5. You will contribute to the training and development of the depot teams to maintain a highly efficient, motivated, and safety-conscious workforce.

Ganymede is a leading transport company, responsible for operating one of the largest train networks in the UK.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have:

  1. An engineering background with a minimum level 3 qualification within any engineering discipline.
  2. Experience in the rail sector is desirable, but we welcome applicants from any heavy engineering, production, or transportation industry.
  3. Strong demonstrable workforce planning and scheduling experience.
  4. Ability to foster a positive and inclusive working culture to get the best out of each employee and support people development and continual improvement.
