Position: Waste Management Operations Supervisor


Compensation: Up to £45,000 annually, along with performance incentives, vehicle provision or cash allowance, and pension contributions.


Work Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday)


Location: Clacton on Sea, Essex

Your Responsibilities:

  • Oversee refuse and recycling collection teams, managing approximately 100 direct reports, as well as street cleansing service operators efficiently.
  • Ensure all services provided under the contract adhere to company policies, compliance standards, and customer satisfaction metrics.
  • Manage fleet operations and drivers to maintain legal compliance and minimize damage and defects.
  • Ensure that your business unit is compliant with legal and environmental regulations, strictly following all planning and permitting conditions.
  • Compile weekly and monthly statistical reports for management, including attendance and missed collections.
  • Assist management in achieving budgeted profits, operational excellence, and safety standards for your unit.
  • Collaborate with clients to address contractual issues, ensuring the Veolia brand is upheld in the public eye.
  • Utilize the Echo system for performance reporting, managing data effectively.
  • Support the development of a safety culture that prioritizes timely accident reporting and reduction.

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience in waste management or transportation.
  • CPC in Road Haulage and a valid UK driving license are essential.
  • Strong understanding of Health and Safety regulations.
  • Experience in municipal waste services is preferred.
  • Demonstrated business acumen and financial management capabilities.
  • IOSH and COTC qualifications (where applicable).
