About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Meadows School. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the education and well-being of our students with Social Emotional and Mental Health difficulties, Autistic Spectrum Conditions, Speech and Language difficulties, and associated learning difficulties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to students with complex needs, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement personalized learning plans.
  • Assist with the delivery of therapeutic interventions, including TCI (Therapeutic Care Interventions), to promote positive behavior and emotional well-being.
  • Support students with daily living skills, such as personal care and hygiene, and assist with mealtime and snack preparation.
  • Contribute to the creation of a safe and inclusive learning environment, promoting positive relationships and a sense of community.
Requirements
  • A flexible and patient approach, with a willingness to work with students with challenging behaviors.
  • Experience of working with young people with complex needs, or a willingness to undertake further training.
  • Good levels of literacy and numeracy, with a willingness to complete a level 2 qualification within the 6-month probationary period.
  • Able to communicate effectively with students and adults, and work as part of a team.
  • A manual driving license, with a requirement to drive school vehicles.
