Fire Safety Auditing Officer

**Job Overview:**
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service seeks a highly skilled Firesafety Auditing Officer to join our team on a permanent basis. The role involves conducting audits of premises fire risk assessments, inspecting licensed or registered premises, carrying out site surveys, and checking fire strategies and plans as necessary.
**About the Role:**
This is a part-time opportunity, working 17.5 hours per week. We welcome applications from individuals seeking flexible working arrangements.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Conduct thorough audits of premises fire risk assessments under the Fire (Scotland) Act
- Inspect licensed or registered premises to ensure compliance with regulations
- Carry out site surveys and check fire strategies and plans as required
- Identify fire hazards and risks and propose measures to reduce risks and improve fire safety
- Issue fire safety reports and notices, including statistical reports
**Requirements:**
- A strong understanding of current fire safety legislation, including the Fire (Scotland) Act and Fire Safety (Scotland) Regulations
- Experience in producing high-quality written reports
- Ability to use IT effectively for data analysis and presentation
- Proven experience in recording and processing the results of technical work, such as audits and risk assessments
**Desirable Criteria:**
- Successful completion of the Fire Safety Enforcement and Legislation module course or equivalent
- A recognized qualification in Fire Safety or Health and Safety, e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH
- Knowledge and understanding of SFRS Community Safety Policies and Procedures
