Actuarial Team Lead for Healthcare Services

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our Health Actuarial Team at Mercer Marsh Benefits in London.

About the Role

This is a hybrid position requiring a minimum of three days per week in the office. As an Actuarial Team Lead, you will be responsible for leading complex client engagements, managing service delivery, strategy, financial evaluations, plan design, renewal, business placement, benchmarking, and other projects associated with underwriting health and life insurance or projecting healthcare-related costs.

Your primary focus will be on gathering, organising, testing, and reviewing client or vendor data for accuracy, validity, and reasonableness to identify any discrepancies. You will also project healthcare costs for entities in the healthcare and adjacent industries and provide general management consulting services for entities in adjacent industries, including hospital groups, government, public sector entities, and large corporates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead complex client engagements and manage overall service delivery, strategy, financial evaluations, plan design, renewal, business placement, benchmarking, and other projects associated with underwriting health and life insurance or projecting healthcare-related costs.
  • Gather, organise, test, and review client or vendor data for accuracy, validity, and reasonableness to identify any discrepancies.
  • Project healthcare costs for entities in the healthcare and adjacent industries and provide general management consulting services for entities in adjacent industries.
Requirements
  • You must be a fully qualified Actuary with extensive actuarial modelling experience and the ability to work with large quantities of data.
  • You should have very good interpersonal, communication (written and verbal), and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint.
