The Emerald Group is seeking a highly skilled Actuarial Team Lead to join our Actuarial Modelling team in London. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of actuarial trainees and analysts, with a focus on developing and motivating the team to optimise overall performance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the delivery of a comprehensive, accurate and timely actuarial modelling production service across the company.
  • Contributing to the production and validation of actuarial data, including the valuation of actuarial policy liabilities, cash flow matching for ALM purposes, and modelled asset valuations.
  • Providing training and developing the skills and knowledge of the team.
  • Managing a strong control environment across the modelling process, supported by appropriate key risk indicators.
  • Ensuring the team possesses a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries (or equivalent) qualification.
  • Demonstrating good knowledge of Prophet and other actuarial models, and their commercial application and implications.
  • Exhibiting advanced MS Excel skills, with efficient use of spreadsheets and basic data manipulation skills.
  • Validating the work of non-qualified and other recently qualified actuaries.
  • Possessing excellent analytical and report writing/drafting skills.
