We are excited to be partnering with a leading engineering consultancy to find a talented Electronics Engineering Director to join their growing electric propulsion team in the Midlands.

The company specializes in the complex design and delivery of electrified propulsion systems across various sectors, including automotive, off-highway, aerospace/defense, marine, and energy.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Electronics Engineering Director or an exceptional Principal Engineer to lead the development of embedded power electronics solutions for a wide range of applications, from clean sheet designs to fully validated, production-ready hardware.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in power electronics and magnetics, as well as excellent commercial and customer management skills.

Key Responsibilities

* Deliver high-quality power electronics solutions using the latest tools and technology

* Lead a team of engineers in the design, development, and testing of electrified propulsion systems

* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery

* Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and stakeholders

Requirements

* Excellent knowledge of power electronics and magnetics technology

* Experience in full lifecycle design, validation testing, and volume production

* Strong knowledge of high voltage systems, gate drivers, and device protection

* Good knowledge of EMC and familiarity with major standards relating to electrical and functional safety, EMC, and OEM

* Strong expertise in thermal simulation and management for power electronics and electromagnetic systems
