Electronics Engineering Director

We are excited to be supporting a leading engineering consultancy with a Chief Electronics Engineering opportunity based in the midlands.
Our client works on complex design and delivery of electrified propulsion systems within the automotive, off-highway, aerospace/defence, marine, and energy sectors.
The RoleWe are looking for a Chief Engineer or an excellent Principal Engineer to be part of the growing electric propulsion team. You will deliver embedded power electronics solutions for a wide variety of applications from clean sheet through to fully validated, production-ready hardware using the latest tools and technology within the fully equipped facility.
The role is very diverse, so you will require a strong technical power electronics background as well as good commercial and customer management skills.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deliver embedded power electronics solutions for complex applications.
- Lead technical training and mentoring of colleagues and customer engineers.
- Manage multi-person/cross-functional projects to achieve budgeted margin and maintain an excellent relationship with customers.
- Take an active role in the professional development of others within the function.
- Excellent knowledge of power electronics and magnetics technology.
- Experience of full lifecycle design through to validation testing to volume production and field application.
- Strong knowledge of high voltage systems, gate drivers, and device protection.
- Good knowledge of EMC.
- Familiarity with major standards relating to electrical and functional safety, EMC, and OEM.
- Strong expertise in thermal simulation and management for power electronics and electromagnetic systems.
