About the RoleThe successful candidate will work in the Plaster Room, within the Orthopaedic Outpatient Department, caring for patients with a range of trauma and orthopaedic conditions. You will be required to hold the British Casting Certificate (BCC) and maintain registration with the British Orthopaedic Association (BOA).
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality care to patients with a range of trauma and orthopaedic conditions.
- Work in the Plaster Room, within the Orthopaedic Outpatient Department.
- Hold the British Casting Certificate (BCC) and maintain registration with the British Orthopaedic Association (BOA).
- Develop and maintain skills to undertake the application and removal of plaster casts and splints.
- Work in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team.
- NVQ Level 3 qualification or foundation degree in healthcare or equivalent qualification or experience.
- Evidence of Continuous Professional Development.
- Specialist Post-Certificate Casting qualifications.
- Experience of working as an orthopaedic practitioner in a plaster room within a hospital setting.
- Previous experience with dealing with members of the public or voluntary group activities.
