Our client, a prominent company based in Plymouth, is seeking a skilled Principal Mechanical Design Specialist to join their engineering team. As a key member of the department, you will be responsible for leading the design process and ensuring high-quality solutions for clients.

With a strong background in mechanical design and experience with Creo & Windchill software, you will play a crucial role in driving projects forward and delivering innovative designs that meet client expectations.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement comprehensive design strategies, from conceptualization to final production.
  2. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  3. Leverage advanced design tools such as DFMEA & Six Sigma tolerance analysis to deliver cost-effective solutions.
  4. Communicate complex technical information to stakeholders, including clients and internal teams.

Qualifications:

  1. Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  2. Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design, with a focus on CAD development.
  3. Strong understanding of design principles, including ergonomics, aesthetics, and functionality.
  4. Excellent communication and leadership skills.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for engineering, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

We estimate the salary for this position to be between £40,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus bonus and overtime.
