About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team at Wabtec Corporation. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for leading and managing projects within manufacturing, taking ownership of delivery, project planning, execution, and cost.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Lead and manage projects within manufacturing, ensuring timely delivery, project planning, execution, and cost control.
  • Manufacturing Process Expertise: Develop and maintain knowledge of modern machining and manufacturing processes, including NC programming, ideally from a low-volume, high-accuracy manufacturing environment.
  • Documentation and Quality: Create and maintain supporting documentation, including manufacturing routings, layouts, and instructions, to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Investigation and Root Cause Analysis: Conduct investigations into non-conformance, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Inspection and Quality Control: Conduct inspections, creating non-conformance reports, in-process, and final inspection protocols to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work cross-functionally with design, quality, procurement, and external suppliers to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Cost Reduction and Efficiency: Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives, improving manufacturing efficiency and productivity.
  • NC Programming and Machine Operation: Program and operate multi-axis turning, milling, grinding, and EDM machines, as well as CMMs using PC-DMIS.
Requirements
  • Education and Qualifications: HNC level or above in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, with relevant training as a Manufacturing Technician/Engineer.
  • Experience and Skills: Experience in a modern manufacturing facility, with a good understanding of modern machining techniques, problem-solving techniques, and LEAN manufacturing principles.
  • Software and Technical Skills: Proficiency in Siemens NX (CAM) and Hypermill, as well as computer software literacy.
