Job SummaryWe are looking for a talented Manufacturing Engineer to lead and manage projects within our manufacturing department, taking responsibility for delivery, project planning, execution, and cost. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of modern machining and manufacturing processes, NC programming, and experience in a low-volume, high-accuracy manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage projects within Manufacturing, ensuring timely delivery, project planning, execution, and cost control.
- Create and maintain supporting documentation, including Manufacturing Routings, Layouts, and instructions.
- Define, perform, and implement investigations into non-conformance through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Inspect and test products, creating non-conformance reports, in-process, and final inspection protocols.
- Work cross-functionally with Design, Quality, Procurement, and external suppliers to ensure seamless collaboration.
- Program and operate multi-axis Turning, Milling, Grinding, and EDM machines, as well as CMMs using PC-DMIS.
- HNC level or above in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, with relevant training as a Manufacturing Technician/Engineer.
- Experience in a modern manufacturing facility, with a good understanding of modern machining techniques and problem-solving techniques.
- Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing techniques and processes, as well as computer/software literacy.
- Legal authorization to work in the UK is required; Wabtec will not sponsor individuals for employment visas.
