Manufacturing Engineer Opportunity at Wabtec

Wabtec Corporation, a leading global provider of equipment, systems, digital solutions, and value-added services for freight and transit rail, is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team at Napier Turbocharger, a Wabtec Company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage projects within Manufacturing, taking responsibility for delivery, project planning, execution, and cost.
  • Creation and maintenance of supporting documentation, including Manufacturing Routings, Layouts, and instructions.
  • Define, perform, and implement investigations into non-conformance through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Inspection activities, including the creation of non-conformance reports, in-process, and final inspection protocols.
  • Work cross-functionally with different departments, such as Design, Quality, Procurement, and external suppliers.
  • NC programming of multi-axis Turning, Milling, Grinding, and EDM machines.
  • Programming of CMMs using PC-DMIS.
Requirements:
  • Qualified to HNC level or above in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, with relevant training as Manufacturing Technician/Engineer.
  • Experience in a modern manufacturing facility, with a good understanding of modern machining techniques, plus problem-solving techniques.
  • Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing techniques and processes.
  • Computer/software literate.
  • Legal authorization to work in the UK is required.
