Job Overview:

As a Residential Support Worker at Barnardo's, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people in our care. You will work in a dynamic team environment, providing a safe and nurturing space for our service users to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build trust and develop nurturing relationships with service users.
  • Work in partnership with parents/carers and other professionals.
  • Contribute to the upkeep of the home, including cooking and cleaning.
  • Document information accurately and maintain up-to-date records.
  • Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Maintain a safe environment at all times.

Requirements:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or willingness to achieve within a specified timeframe.
  • Motivation to make a positive difference in young people's lives.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and protection of vulnerable children and young people.
  • Flexibility to commit to sleep-ins and shift work, including weekends and bank holidays.
