Wildlife Policy Officer

We are seeking an experienced Conservation Officer to fill a maternity cover position and support our team in policy and planning.
This is a fixed-term part-time position with an estimated annual salary of £19,538, based at Woods Mill, BN5 9SD.
About the JobThe successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of environmental policy and its application in strategic planning. They will work closely with our team to defend and recover nature in Sussex.
Key Responsibilities:
- To contribute to the development of policy and guidance on conservation issues.
- To provide expert advice on conservation matters to internal stakeholders and external partners.
- To maintain and develop effective relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, local authorities, and other conservation organizations.
Requirements:
- A degree in a relevant subject, such as conservation biology or environmental science.
- Proven experience of working in a conservation or environmental policy role.
- Excellent knowledge of environmental policy and its application in strategic planning.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
