About the Role

The successful candidate will be joining a friendly team of scientists and doctors in a modern laboratory and have the opportunity to learn a wide variety of histology techniques. Our facilities are close to public transportation and offer a collaborative work environment.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to the histology service, ensuring high-quality results and efficient laboratory operations.
  • Work closely with the laboratory team to maintain UKAS accreditation and HCPC standards.
  • Develop and implement new histology techniques and procedures to improve laboratory efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve laboratory goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • IBMS Accredited BSc Biomedical Science degree.
  • Completed IBMS specialist portfolio.
  • Registration with the HCPC as a biomedical scientist.
  • Proven experience post HCPC registration in a Cellular Pathology laboratory.
  • Experience of working with Laboratory Information Management Systems.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • MSC in a relevant field.
  • Experience of staff training and development.
  • Experience of digital pathology and specimen dissection.

Working Environment

The laboratory is a dynamic and supportive environment, with a strong focus on teamwork and collaboration. The successful candidate will be expected to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality results and excellent customer service.
