Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Support Specialist to join our team at Barnardo's. As a key member of our Children's Services team, you will play a vital role in supporting the emotional and social development of children and young people.

The successful candidate will have a passion for working with children and young people, and a strong understanding of their needs and challenges. You will be responsible for providing high-quality support and care, promoting independence and wellbeing, and contributing to the upkeep of our residential homes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct support and care to children and young people, promoting their emotional and social development.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to create a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Contribute to the upkeep of our residential homes, including cooking, cleaning, and maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
Requirements
  • Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare or willingness to complete within a specified timeframe.
  • Relevant experience working with children and young people, ideally in a residential care setting.
  • At least one year of supervisory and shift leader experience in a residential care setting.
  • Able to demonstrate a good understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.
