Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Clinical Psychologist to join our team at Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust. This exciting opportunity has become available due to the previous post holder progressing in their career. As a Senior Clinical Psychologist, you will provide senior medical input and leadership to Cherrywood ward, a 17-bedded, female-only, acute psychiatric unit.

Main Duties

  1. To support the provision of psychiatric services to the area/specialty they are appointed to. In this instance, the post holder would support Cherrywood ward.
  2. Clinical management and care planning for the patients on this unit, including MDT meetings, CPAs, liaising with carers/families, and MHA-related work.
  3. Active involvement in daily clinical reviews, pre-discharge meetings, Section 117 planning meetings, etc. to work collaboratively with the consultant and MDT in the assessment, treatment, and management of psychiatric inpatients.
  4. To prepare reports (with supervision and support as needed) and attend Mental Health Act Tribunals as and when necessary, in agreement with the supervising consultant.
  5. With the patient's consent, to ensure the involvement of families and carers, wherever possible, in treatment planning.
