Equipment Team Lead

The Equipment Team Lead will oversee the planning, resourcing, and coordination of the Equipment Team, ensuring timely routine maintenance, ad-hoc repairs, qualification, and calibration of analytical and production equipment across the business.
About the Opportunity:
The Equipment Team Lead will be responsible for managing and directing the Equipment Team on a day-to-day basis, building relationships with managers, customers, and suppliers. They will be responsible for yearly appraisals, objective setting, and driving forward the development and progression of the team.
Responsibilities:
- Manage team schedule to ensure planned and unplanned repair and servicing activities are performed in a timely fashion.
- Carry out, or delegate, reactive repairs and qualification to lab equipment raised through the Equipment Helpdesk. Resolve issues in a timely fashion to ensure equipment downtime is minimised. Monitor team performance against KPI's to ensure excellent service delivery.
- Develop in-depth and specialist technical knowledge on a broad range of equipment including HPLC, UHPLC, Moisture Meters, Flow Meters, NGI's, Temperature Probes, Balances, Pipettes, and more.
- Take a lead in procurement of new equipment, liaising with relevant parties to ensure equipment meets the need of the lab. Carry out tender processes and present to management for review.
- Take a lead and support in projects, such as relocation of existing equipment and procurement of new equipment.
- Review and approve qualification data prior to quality review.
- Ensure remote monitoring data for temperature-controlled equipment and environments are properly reviewed to monitor equipment performance, help identify issues/trends, and document temperature excursions.
- Ensure quality (QMS) records are completed in a timely manner by themselves and the Equipment Team, in-line with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
Key Requirements:
- Excellent IT literacy skills.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Experience managing or leading a team.
- Experience working with and maintaining a range of laboratory equipment. Experience working with HPLC equipment.
- Experience working in a GMP environment preferred.
- Ability to be flexible in working approach to meet the needs of the business.
