The Equipment Operations Supervisor is tasked with strategizing, resourcing, overseeing, coordinating, and executing the functions of the Equipment Team, which provides an internal service to guarantee the timely routine upkeep, emergency repairs, qualification, and calibration of analytical and production apparatus throughout the organization.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Equipment Operations Supervisor must effectively communicate with personnel at all levels within the organization, fostering relationships with managers, clients, and suppliers alike.

This role involves managing and directing the Equipment Team on a daily basis. Responsibilities include conducting annual evaluations, setting objectives, and propelling the development and advancement of the team.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee team scheduling to ensure that both planned and unplanned maintenance and repair tasks are completed promptly. Execute or delegate urgent repairs and qualifications for laboratory equipment reported through the Equipment Helpdesk. Address issues swiftly to minimize equipment downtime and monitor team performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure exceptional service delivery. Cultivate extensive and specialized technical expertise on a diverse array of equipment, including HPLC, UHPLC, moisture meters, flow meters, NGIs, temperature probes, balances, pipettes, and more. Lead the procurement process for new equipment, collaborating with relevant stakeholders to ensure that equipment meets laboratory requirements. Conduct tender processes and present findings to management for evaluation. Take charge of and assist in projects, such as relocating existing equipment and acquiring new apparatus. Review and endorse qualification data prior to quality assessment. Ensure that remote monitoring data for temperature-sensitive equipment and environments is thoroughly reviewed to assess equipment performance, identify issues/trends, and document temperature deviations. Guarantee that quality management system (QMS) records are completed promptly by both themselves and the Equipment Team, in accordance with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Essential Qualifications:

Strong IT literacy skills. Excellent organizational and communication abilities. Proven experience in managing or leading a team. Familiarity with maintaining a variety of laboratory equipment, particularly HPLC systems. Experience in a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment is preferred. Ability to adapt working methods to meet organizational needs.
