Community Health Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Community Nursery Nurse to join our team of Health Visitors in High Wycombe and surrounding areas. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering the Healthy Child Programme, providing support and guidance to families and children in the community.
Main Responsibilities:- Work with clients in various community settings, including homes, clinics, children's centres, and educational establishments.
- Advise and assist parents in developing their parenting skills, reporting back to the senior member of staff on any problems or changes identified during work with clients.
- Undertake Family Health Needs Assessments as directed by the Health Visitor, ensuring prompt feedback of all client contact to the line manager.
- Work with the team to implement and prioritize planned programmes of health promotion, education, and advice on all aspects of prevention of ill health to individuals, families, and groups.
- Undertake child and/or family health assessments, including screening, in line with the Healthy Child Programme and according to local guidelines in various community settings as required, reporting back on any ensuing health problems.
- Take appropriate action in cases of suspected or actual child abuse, working within the Buckinghamshire Safeguarding Children Code of Practice and Procedures.
- Attend Child Protection Conferences/Core Groups as required, with the named Health Visitor.
- Identify and report concerns promptly to your line manager, including safety and health issues that may be detrimental to the health and well-being of children and their families.
- NNEB or NVQ Childcare level 3 qualification.
- Experience in a community setting.
- High level of interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to negotiate compromises and resolve conflict amicably.
- Courteous with all customers, both internal and external.
- Clear, concise verbal and written communication to ensure liaison with multidisciplinary teams, patients, and carers, and to ensure records are kept accurately and legibly.
- Participates in interagency collaboration.
- Ability to motivate, negotiate, and support others.
- Able to manage self and others within the team environment.
- Calm under pressure.
- Ability to encompass changes in working environment.
- Awareness of diverse cultural issues.
- Able to deal with sensitive and difficult situations.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975, and as such, it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
Depending on experience: £26,530 to £29,114 per annum pro rata.
