Job Title: Associate Director, Advancement

A new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Associate Director to join our team in the construction sector. Our client is a large multidisciplinary construction consultancy based in Leeds, with a strong reputation for delivering high-profile projects and disputes in the UK and internationally.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of delay analysts working on complex and concurrent projects
  • Contribute sections to expert report writing and work towards writing own expert reports
  • Deliver expert delay and forensic planning services in line with client briefs
  • Network and win work, developing relationships with construction industry solicitors and influential contacts
  • Critically analyse project and major programme performance, identifying root causes of distress
  • Lead development of contract and commercial strategy to recover performance of distressed projects or major programmes
  • Provide strategic advice on proceeding or amending claims and disputes
  • Manage stakeholders, chairing meetings with clients and other advisors as necessary
  • Coach and train delay analysis team, encouraging professional progression
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in delay, planning, and related construction and engineering industry experience
  • Significant exposure to managing programmes, using planning software and delay analysis techniques
  • Strong working knowledge of common planning software, such as Primavera and Asta PowerProject
  • Experience of managing a team of delay analysts and contributing to expert report writing
  • Ability to work towards writing own expert reports and delivering expert delay and forensic planning services
  • Experience in developing and pursuing claims up or down the supply chain
  • Strong profile with construction industry solicitors and influential contacts
  • Experience in coaching and training a delay analysis team
