Process Safety Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Safety Engineer to join our team at INEOS Grangemouth. As a key member of our Process Safety Network, you will play a critical role in defining and delivering process safety support and studies to meet business demands and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical design competence and guidance on process safety to the local area - Hydrocarbons and Utilities.
- Develop and implement management strategies for non-compliance with legislative practices, identifying gaps and agreeing work programmes to address and mitigate such gaps.
- Lead/support the planning and implementation of Process Hazards Analysis programmes, including chairing PHAs or Safety Engineering Reviews and/or identifying appropriate resource to chair.
- Lead or support LOPAs (Level of Protection Analysis) reviews in response to Asset or Project demand.
- Regularly review the status of process safety information and identify gaps, developing improvement plans.
- Provide approval for Plant Modifications with process safety impact to ensure robustness of the management of change process.
- Coach/mentor less experienced engineers and others to ensure process safety issues and Chemical/Process Engineering considerations are addressed as part of design and operational processes.
- Manage the review and update of the local area COMAH reports to meet legislative requirements, providing input to the complex COMAH establishment report as required.
- Ensure a full range of process safety related skills are available to the complex, identifying gaps as required.
- Provide key share of chemical engineering/operational conscience for the Asset area, balancing production demands in light of ongoing and future process safety, integrity and environmental operating standards.
We are looking for a chartered chemical engineer with significant experience in petrochemical or refinery operations. You should have strong technical skills, specifically in process safety, and strong analytical skills to interpret complicated systems and regulations.
You should also have risk assessment skills, knowledge of specific tools required and ability to interpret results, as well as awareness of human factors influence on process safety.
TUV Certified or experience with Safety Instrumented Systems Lifecycle is desirable, as is experience with the interpretation of results from QRAs and being a Certified Hazard Study Leader.
