Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Operational Engineer to join our team at UK Power Networks (Operations) Ltd. As a key member of our Projects East team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient execution of engineering tasks within our designated Operational team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute Engineering Tasks: You will be responsible for executing engineering tasks within your designated Operational team, ensuring safety and operational excellence while working on DNO and private networks throughout UKPN's EPN and SPN regions.
  • 33kV SAP Operations: Your primary focus will be on 33kV SAP operations, but you will also be involved in 11kV tasks.
  • Deputy to Lead Operational Engineer: You will act as a deputy to the Lead Operational Engineer, attending meetings with Clients and Contractors.
  • Collaboration and Support: You will collaborate with and support the Client Delivery Manager and Lead Operational Engineer in achieving our objectives, identifying future budgets, and ensuring their implementation.
  • Construction and Maintenance: You will be responsible for the delivery of Client-centric Capital works Construction projects and maintenance plans as instructed by the Lead Operational Engineer.
Requirements
  1. Manage Infrastructure Projects: You will manage the construction of large and medium-sized infrastructure projects, as well as smaller connections and CiC schemes.
  2. Oversee Construction and Maintenance Programs: You will oversee the Construction and Maintenance programs for UK Power Networks Services' assets, operating at voltages ranging from 11/33kV to 400V.
  3. Collaboration and Communication: You will collaborate with the Lead Operational Engineer to ensure all work programs are completed on time and within budget, adhering to contractual commitments regarding time, cost, and quality.
  4. Teamwork and Delivery: You will work with Technicians, Jointers, and Apprentices to ensure the delivery of the engineering tasks is up to the expected standards.
