We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Residential Care Officer to join our dedicated team at West Berkshire Council. As a Residential Care Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and comfort of our residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the team of Care Practitioners and ensure the safe and smooth operation of the shift.
- Assist with daily activities, promote independence, and maintain a safe environment, including undertaking medication administration.
- Build positive relationships with residents, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning and reviews.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a similar care role, ideally within a care home setting.
- A compassionate and empathetic nature, with a genuine desire to help others.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team, as well as independently.
- A flexible approach to work, including availability for shift work and occasional weekends.
