We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Care Professional to join our team at West Berkshire Council as a Residential Care Officer.



This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about providing high-quality care and support to vulnerable adults. As a Residential Care Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and comfort of our residents.



Key Responsibilities


  • Oversee the team of Care Practitioners and ensure the safe and smooth operation of the shift
  • Assist with daily activities, promote independence, and maintain a safe environment, including undertaking medication administration
  • Build positive relationships with residents, their families, and other healthcare professionals
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning and reviews


Requirements

To excel in this role, you should have:




  • Previous experience in a similar care role, ideally within a care home setting
  • A compassionate and empathetic nature, with a genuine desire to help others
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team, as well as independently
  • A flexible approach to work, including availability for shift work and occasional weekends
