Financial Controller Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our team at Hays Accountancy and Finance. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for leading the production of accurate and timely financial information, providing business partner support to senior operational leaders, and optimizing the use of finance systems and IT to ensure an efficient process with strong financial controls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the finance team in the production of monthly management accounts and prepare financial summaries for review by the Finance Director and the board.
  • Act as business partner to senior operational leaders and provide support on product costing, pricing, and manufacturing decisions.
  • Optimize the use of finance systems and IT to ensure an efficient process with strong financial controls.
  • Be the lead point of contact for the auditors and the first point of contact for external partners.
  • Provide input and sometimes leadership on various projects, including capital projects.

Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant with significant experience in the manufacturing sector.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing reporting and experience of partnering with operational leaders.
  • Experience of leading a small team and the ambition to apply skills in a business experiencing significant growth.
