Salary: £80,000 - £85,000 per annum, + £5,500 car allowance, 10-20% bonus, 25 days + Bank Holiday, 10% Pension employer, 4% employee contribution

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Group Health, Safety and Environment Director to join our team. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing our health, safety, and environmental strategy across the UK operations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive health, safety, and environmental strategy for the UK operations
  • Lead the health, safety, and environmental team to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards
  • Collaborate with functional leadership teams to ensure alignment of health, safety, and environmental standards across all UK sites
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the implementation of health, safety, and environmental strategic priorities
  • Lead the Behaviour Based Safety (BBS) program in the country to promote a positive safety culture
  • Communicate with senior leadership teams to ensure their support and endorsement of health, safety, and environmental programs and initiatives
  • Develop and adapt standards, guidance materials, and training to support the implementation of the health, safety, and environmental strategy
  • Periodically report progress to the senior leadership team and global function using appropriate performance indicators and management review processes
  • Advises on Capex with respect to health, safety, and environmental projects
  • Assists in the assessment and implementation of international standards ISO 45001 certifications including follow-up
  • Conducts independent compliance assessments, field observations, inspections, coaching, and guidance within country
  • Coordinates reporting towards external bodies
  • Manages all technical risks in the country and coordinates actions to reduce or mitigate them
  • Coordinates, through Security manager, implementation, and improvement of security standards in the company and investigation of frauds
  • Cooperates with the insurance company and coordinates cases raised related to the insurance

Requirements:

  • NEBOSH diploma or equivalent
  • FMCG experience ideally within food, beverage, or packaging manufacturing environments
  • Management of multiple sites
  • Exposure to risk management, business continuity management, cultural change programs
