About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Biomedical Scientist to lead our Stem Cell Laboratory team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining standards and staff competency in a challenging transition period as the laboratory moves to a new state-of-the-art facility early in 2025.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist in the provision of a comprehensive Bone Marrow transplant service.
  • Take a lead on facilitating clinical trials for patients from Haematology and other Trust departments.
  • Work in a clean-room environment to process bone marrow, stem cells, and cord blood for patient transplant.
  • Provide training, direction, and leadership to junior team members.
Requirements
  • BSc Biomedical Sciences or equivalent qualification.
  • MSc Biomedical Science (or equivalent).
  • Documented evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
  • Significant experience of management of staff and Stem Cell Lab work (or equivalent).
Key Skills
  • Highly specialist interpretative skills to determine clinical significance of complex laboratory results.
  • Able to disseminate scientific knowledge effectively.
  • Strong teaching and training skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Estimated Salary: £54,320 - £60,981 per annum.
