Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Research Coordinator to join our team at the Clinical Neuroscience division. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating clinical trials and research studies within the department.

  • Coordinate the collection of blood samples required for clinical trials and ensure safe storage of specimens.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and document relevant information in medical notes.
  • Responsible for collecting, coordinating, and computerising data generated from clinical trials.
  • Implement and adhere to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) principles as set out in the Clinical Trials Regulations.
  • Act as a resource for Parkinson's disease-based research.

The post holder will work under the supervision of Professor K Ray Chaudhuri and the management of Alexandra Rizos. Experience in clinical research and knowledge of GCP is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • To co-ordinate an agreed portfolio of commercial and non-commercial clinical trials at King's College Hospital, Clinical Neuroscience division.
  • To recruit patients to portfolio adopted non-commercial and if required commercial studies.
  • To collect data, support and monitor patients, apply clinical scales to patients in clinic, and data entry.
  • To participate in follow-up and completion of relevant trial-specific paperwork, including administration, coordination, and minute-taking for the monthly divisional research governance and feasibility meeting.
Requirements
  • A postgraduate Diploma or equivalent professional qualification in Health Sciences field.
  • Knowledge of ICH GCP.
  • Experience of working with people with neurodegenerative diseases and their carers.
  • Knowledge and experience of handling complex relationships.
  • Experience of research in a healthcare setting.
  • Evidence of continuous personal, professional, and academic development.
  • Basic knowledge of recent NHS legislation and recommendations in the field of neurosciences.
  • Awareness of current legislation regarding research governance issues.
  • Understanding of the needs and capabilities of people with neurodegenerative diseases and their carers.

The salary for this role is £44,806 - £53,134 per annum.
