Apprentice Fire Security Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Apprentice Fire Security Systems Engineer to join our team at G4S Business Unit:US Youth Services. As a key member of our Fire & Security Systems business team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service and support to our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Maintenance and Repair: Attend to calls for maintenance (on site and remotely) as directed by team coordinators, rectify all faults on the first visit where rectification is within your control, and carry out a rolling program of preventative maintenance visits.
- Site Configuration and Record Keeping: Collect and record site configuration information, maintain accurate and timely records, and ensure that audits are carried out of quality procedures.
- Training and Support: Provide training to customers and colleagues as required, and carry out any additional tasks that may be required.
- Project Commissioning: Commission small projects when required, and ensure that all work is completed to the highest standards.
- Technical Expertise: Previous experience installing and servicing a wide product base of access control systems, CCTV systems, and intruder alarm systems, as well as experience of installing and servicing fire alarm systems, ideally GENT based.
- Qualifications and Knowledge: An IT qualification and/or Electrical/Electronic qualification, a broad technical IT knowledge, including installing various Windows Operating Systems, networking, and knowledge of basic electrical principles such as measuring voltage and current drain.
- Soft Skills: Good attention to detail, an enthusiastic team player who is able to work well under pressure and maintain a professional approach at all times, and comfortable working irregular hours and being on a 24/7 call rota.
- Competitive Salary: Up to £34,000 per annum.
