About the Role
Acorns Children's Hospice Trust is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Young Person Worker to join our Family Services Teams in our Walsall Hospice. As a key member of our team, you will be an advocate for young people, championing their needs and supporting them in their preparation for adulthood.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide therapeutic-based support to young people, helping them to cope with loss and bereavement.
- Develop and deliver strategies to meet the needs of young people, including creating individual and group support systems.
- Work closely with our young people, listening to their goals and aspirations, and helping them to prepare for adulthood and transition.
- Contribute to the development of services for young people, assisting in the delivery of training programs and participating in outreach work.
- Collaborate with our team to share best practice and meet organisational objectives.
About You
- Professional qualification in a field such as Social Work, Community Nursing, Youth Work, Counselling, or Play Therapy.
- Experience of providing therapeutic-based support to young people, with a focus on bereavement and loss.
- Ability to travel independently and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
What We Offer
- A competitive salary of £27,000 to £37,000 per annum, plus allowances.
