About the Role
Acorns Children's Hospice Trust is seeking a dedicated Young Person Worker to join our Family Services Teams in our Walsall Hospice. As a Young Person Worker, you will be an advocate for young people, championing the provision of services and supporting their preparation for adulthood.
Main Responsibilities
- Be an advocate for the needs of young people within the hospice environment, giving them a voice in the organisation and delivering new initiatives to meet their needs.
- Work with our young people, listening to their goals and aspirations and helping them to prepare for adulthood and transition.
- Plan, develop and deliver a strategy that achieves operational objectives, including creating individual and group therapeutic-based support systems and Young Person Interest Forums.
- Contribute to the development of services for young people, assisting in the delivery of a range of training programmes, participation in outreach work and contribution to service evaluation.
- Work with the Young Person Workers in our two other hospices, to meet organisational objectives and to share best practice.
About You
- Professionally qualified to degree level in a field such as Social Work, Community Nursing, Youth Work, Counselling or Play Therapy.
- Experience of organising and implementing programmes of activity for young people.
- Experience of providing therapeutic based support for young people.
What We Offer
- A competitive salary of £27,000 to £37,000 per annum (pro rata), plus allowances.
