Locum Consultant in Neurology Specialist

The University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Locum Consultant in Neurology to join our team. This is a full-time position that requires a strong background in general neurology, with a focus on diagnosis and treatment of patients with neurological disorders.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose and treat patients with neurological disorders, ensuring accurate and effective care.
- Ensure the appropriate reception, clinical management, and referrals of all patients attending the neurology department.
- Participate in the management of the neurology team, contributing to the development of departmental policies and procedures.
- Liaise with other clinical specialists to ensure the appropriate transfer of care for patients to other specialists.
- Ensure adherence to departmental, Trust, regional, and national policies, including patients' charters, standards, and clinical governance.
- Professional accountability for the standards of non-consultant staff in the neurology department, liaising with professionals and heads of other services.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A strong background in general neurology, with a focus on diagnosis and treatment of patients with neurological disorders.
- Experience in managing acute neurological patients, including those with epilepsy, stroke, Parkinson's disease, and multiple sclerosis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development, staying up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in neurology.
- A strong understanding of clinical governance, quality improvement, and patient safety.
